I was born in Balikesir in 1986, a city in Turkey which has coasts both in Aegean Sea and Marmara Sea, a city surrounded by olive trees, ancient cities, mythology and Aegean tradition. I spent my summers at the skirts of Ida Mountains where Gods watched the war of Troy. I witnessed the discovery of the ancient city of Antandrus just some hundred meters away from my house. I visited Pergamon , Assos and Ephesus countless times. I travelled all Aegean and Mediterranean coasts of Turkey and Greece. I have an immense interest and love for antiquity, mythology, archeology, Mediterranean and Aegean cultures since my childhood.
In 2004 I started studying architecture in Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts in Istanbul, a university with a certain fame. It was founded in 1882 by a very important ottoman intellectual Osman Hamdi Bey who is an orientalist painter, an archaeologist, a museum curator and art historian. Moving to Istanbul, Constantinople, was revolutionary in my life, living in this city with more than 15 millions of inhabitants, a city with 5000 years of history! I studied Ottoman and Byzantium architectures with great interest, travelling and observing with my own eyes.
In 2010 after completing my studies in Istanbul, I ended up on the other side of Byzantine Empire, in Venice! I got my masters degree in architecture in Università IUAV di Venezia. I drank each drop of this amazing city with my eyes, thanks to my passionate architecture history teacher Manuela Morresi, I studied every corner of Venice, understanding gothic and renaissance venetian architecture and finding links between Venice and Constantinople, between turkish architecture and venetian architecture.
I've travelled often, I've seen almost all Europe and last year I made an unforgettable magical trip to Egypt. I love architecture history, I love art, I love philosophy.
In this period of my life I live in Prato, a Tuscan city very close to Florence. I love renaissance architecture, I enjoy tracing the antique architectural elements in it. If the world doesn't end on 21st December of this year, my dream is doing doctorate in architecture history.
